Breast Cancer Services and Resources Directory
Queensland
A Directory compiled as a guide to services and resources that may be useful for women diagnosed with breast cancer. It is used to complement the information given by doctors and other health care providers.
Produced by the Breast Cancer Association of Queensland Inc., the directory is a reference to help women make informed decisions as they progress through treatment and recovery.
The Directory has been provided Free of Charge by the association to interested women and health care providers since August 1996. It is regularly revised and updated. Download the current Resource Directory by clicking of the above.
Video – “Post-Operative Exercises and Support”
A 19-minute video produced to provide women with information about shoulder mobility, arm swelling and associated physical concerns following surgery for breast cancer. The video seeks to increase understanding of the processes involved and emphasises the goal of achieving a return to normal lifestyle and function following treatment. It is used to complement information given by doctors and physiotherapists.The video has been provided Free of Charge by the association since October 1995 to breast cancer sufferers and interested parties.
Annual Seminar
The BCAQ funds an annual information seminar for the community in a different Queensland city each year. To date seminars have been held in Brisbane, Townsville, Toowoomba, Caloundra, Ipswich, Roma, Barcaldine, Emerald, St George, Mt Isa, Biloela, Charleville and in 2009 we visit Kingaroy. Speakers at these seminars are leaders in their fields and the topics include:

• Lymphoedema and Exercise

A newsletter is produced twice per year, and circulated throughout Queensland to supporters, members of the association, health care workers and interested parties.
The newsletter aims to provide up to date information on new treatments, therapies and other matters pertaining to breast cancer and to keep the community informed of the activities and achievements of the association.
